Over 6000 pictures representing what we commonly know as the typical Post Box, all around the UK. A sort of online catalogue brought to us by a dedicated group on Flickr. The most striking aspect results in the variety of coat of arms and letterings of the reigning monarchs from Victoria to Elizabeth. Just a way of seeing how styles evolve through time and how logos appear to be the simplest form of expression even way back in the old days.

Julian Wolkenstein & his funny horses
Thursday, May 21st, 2009

London-based Julian Wolkenstein has worked on tons of serious ads, but when it comes to his personal work his reason is it ‘tickles his own fancy’. He just found it hilarious to think of horses with big hair. In an interview by Zack Seckler on F Stop Magazine he says “It’s just nice to do something that has no reason. There was never any intention to set the world aflame with the project. It was just purely because it made me smile, made me laugh. People wanted to put in a strip line on the bottom of a neutral work and say it was theirs”. A mixture of work-come-pleasure just for the fun of it. We approve 100%.

Nuke – A Polluted Generation
Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Nuke is space for creation and expression. This art magazine shows artists gathering to draw and define a crude portrait of today’s generation. A ‘Polluted generation, the late arrivals’: the image of a crew that is ‘post’ everything. Nuke evokes the world through serious issues such as: global capitalism and political despotism with underlying themes of historical change, economic forces, death, guilt, destruction and beauty, as opposed to work that is myopically focused with the internal concerns of art making.

From the pages of Dazed & Confused, i-D and Flash Art, but most of all from the artists’ own imagination a new proposal is about to be made. A proposal for fearless people: a strong and personal style , something hard to tell and that effortlessly transcends the conventional established world of fashion photography. Dopolavoro Golab is proud to present the artistic explosion FREUDENTHAL / VERHAGEN S/S 1989-2009. It will be a joyful celebration of freed imagination.
