We were lucky to have numerous neverending summers, non modulated sounds knitting melodies upon which to float weightlessly. Fennesz is back, accompanied by Mark Linkous’ Mr.Sparklehorse; the result is the 15th volume of the series “In The Fishtank”, wrapped up in 48 hrs and produced out of pure double genious. You can choose amongst acoustic guitars, cellos, treated music and electronic signals which exquisitely reconstruct melancholic soundscapes. Mark Linkous’ trademark rhythm-lullabies will also prove to be something originating far away. Maybe, finally, someone has concocted a new style of airport music.

All you have to do is read the flyer to capture ICON’s essence. Built with a mixture of ancient materials and new designs, it’s intent is to convey a warm and modern feeling. A diffusion of ‘luxury music’ is spilt on to an intimate dance floor where people under 24 are not allowed to enter, and even if they could, they certainly would not be adorned with sneakers or random rolled-out-of-bed clothing. Oh and b.t.w, the membership costs CHF 1,000 per year.

Famous for his distinctive graphic surfaces on the covers of Factory Records’ records for bands such as Joy Division and New Order, Mr Saville knows better than to interrupt his own creative flow by abiding to pre-formed artistic parameters or rules. According to him “our cultural history could inform our commercial or everyday reality” meaning visual cultural references are the way in which one can maintain awareness with one’s surroundings. Arkitip No. 0049 will contain both Peter’s work as well as a set of essays from past colleagues just to testify he really might be one of our generation’s most upfront designers.
