In September, during Milan Fashion Week, Dopolavoro will host Victoria Bartlett’s show -  an exposition of inspirations and concepts which delineate VPL (Visible Panty Line). Knitting can be a relaxing activity to dwell in after work, but there are some people that have transformed this leisure past time into an unexpected job. An example is Nina Braun, the german artist and designer, formal owner of a skateboarding company, who started knitting around a lot of cool stuff such as textile pictures, toys and sneakers. Visible from Michael Kraft’s pictures the Puschen* For The Cosy Generation series. *’Puschen’ – is a german word for slippers.

knitcafe

Our granny was so cool. The knit-café mania: new meeting points to reduce acute daily stress, especially fit for terrific workaholics. Wouldn’t it be just gorgeous if our knit-mates were called Uma, Julia, Hilary, Winona and Sarah Jessica? For Italy’s knit-cafés look at http://www.do-knit-yourself.com/ and check Knitta, Please! if you decide to call these people to knit all around your possessions.

Your 40 year old obsession with pop art would finally merge into a huge epitome of brand logos splashed across classical masterpieces, obviously commissioned to be made by Chinese artists. On show at Paradise Row gallery in London, JCDC presents his first, personal time-consuming, solo, secret love: his art.

All you need to know is they happen in Paris, on Thursdays and never end too late. The loft-bar pompously named ‘Les Salons du Louvre’ hosts beautiful jet-setting Parisians sipping champagne from 7pm to 9 pm. You head here straight from the office to enjoy a good injection of party-people-music, and go home early in order to catch a good night’s sleep. That way you’ll be sure to stay fresh, feel young and be ready for work the next day. Oh yeah.

BabyBabyBaby is a Mexico City-based contemporary culture magazine launched in 2004. We like to think that it’s the kind of magazine that happens when a group of friends get together after school and put together pages from their diaries, poems and friends photos and drawings in a sort of scrapbook, pasted up with everything that inspires them, reflecting their personality, their innocence, their way of seeing life”. This is THE Dopolavoro we like.

Liebling, so what is your magazine about?

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

cover_big

Liebling is most of all emotions, something we call ‘the glamour of empathy’. We aim to feature what we really love, what deeply appeals to us. Hence the name ‘Liebling’, which is German for darling. We are striving for a personalized approach to artists, turning ‘Liebling’ into a platform for their ideas and collaborations with us. We simply don’t cram ten artists on one page – we dedicate ten pages to one artist. It’s all about visual grandezza and intellectual freedom. We want to really delve into somebody’s work”. What more can we say?
